Hello, I just want to take a minute and introduce myself and share my vision for the worship ministry at Calvary Chapel. Growing up as a pastors kid, ministry was a way of life. Everything and I mean everything took a back seat to serving Jesus. I learned at a very young age that being a Christian was so much more than simply coming to church on Sunday and praying the sinners prayer. It was about being a follower of Christ, laying down my cross and picking up His. I was only 15 years old and Calvary Chapel had only been around for a few years when I felt a calling to worship ministry. I remember saving up a little money and buying my first guitar. It wasn’t long before I began leading our little church in simple praise songs to our Lord. Now 17 years later, I’m still leading our church in worship to our King each and every week! My view of what worship should look like hasn’t changed much over the years. I still believe worship should be offered up in spirit and in truth. I believe church worship should not be entertainment and should not edify any human being. I believe the lyrics that we sing whether hymn or contemporary should not contradict the word of God and should exalt Jesus Christ. In todays church culture, we must be careful not to entertain or put on a show for the congregation. Corporate worship is a time for the church to come together, lifting our voices as one in adoration to the king of kings. My beautiful wife Elizabeth and I have four children together. As a family, we love attended and serving at Calvary Chapel. My hope is that God will continue to bless Calvary Chapel as we continue to serve Him. To God be the glory!
